Welcome to St.Matthew's Playgroup

We offer a safe and welcoming environment where children are encouraged to learn through play and make friends.

Our children benefit from excellent early years education within our spacious environment.

At St Matthew's, we work closely with parents to promote positive attitudes towards learning as well as to support opportunities for social, emotional and personal development. We provide a freely structured environment for learning through play and a range of stimulating activities to develop confidence and encourage cooperation. All children are valued equally at St Matthew's Playgroup.

Children thrive in the care of the highly nurturing staff at the playgroup. They grow in confidence and settle quickly.

Children form strong bonds with staff, who are positive role models. Staff skilfully help children to learn the 'golden rules' at the playgroup, which is demonstrated in children's good behaviour and kindness.

Meet the Team

We are a dedicated team with a combined service of 30 years in early years and work together to provide a caring, fun and equal opportunities environment where children can learn through many play activities and experiences.

Funding

Free government funding is available for all children, starting the term after their third birthday, this covers a total of 15 hours per week,
30 hour funding is available for all pre-school children that meet the criteria set out on the GOV.uk website and must be applied for by parents.
30-hour funding is now available for eligible 2 year olds.
